MID SUMMER 2010 - A Man went looking for America

When FREEWHEELERS overviews the whole wilderness from the late 1960s to the early 70s riding on a time machine, it finds youngsters' hearts burned out with jungles, their unanswered prayers resonating around Woodstock, and so on. The place we land on with the T-shirts of “Power Wear” is filled with such a sense of loss and unfocused anger. But it is not merely a world of despair. Why is the certain period still holding on our mind? Because there exist ending for the beginning, or hope after disappointment in the era. We can also sense some refreshing feelings similar to the determination for a new departure. In reality, in this period of time, the land of America tempted many wounded youngsters into the journey of drifting. Furthermore, the American New Cinema reflected the naked truth of those youths on the screen in the form of a road movie. It seemed like an allegory to trace the inner paths of youngsters they experienced until the “end of summer.” In fact, however, it was an attempt to give courage to the viewers for reborn which would start from an end.
