FALL & WINTER 2012-2013 - MADE TO ORDER CLOTHES of GIANTS

In the Fall Winter 2012 - 2013 collection, we focus on masters in genres such as poetry, thought, painting and photography, parting with our ordinal creating method that combines a certain place and era. The intellectual giants had showed great performances from late 19th to mid 20th centuries. Their words and works selected by using their sensibility are precious wellsprings of inspiration for us FREEWHEELERS. More importantly, their life styles and outfits are quite predominant and they can be a key that leads to our new collection. The giants wore special clothes which had air of substance with high quality. The modern ready-made clothing never has this kind of atmosphere. These outfits must have been “made-to-order.� They exude their strong identities similar to their owner's existences while they had gentlemanly mood. Those made-to-order clothes had unique essences and images, covering up the tough and intelligent artists. In this collection, we cover such made-to-order clothes of the intellectual giants as our theme. However, our purpose is not to make easy copies from their portraits. Our true intention of this collection is to reflect the essences and images in current fashion as a trial of presenting a challenge. All of the items from our new collection are released by our brand “the Great Lakes.� The product lineup consists of several items such as the hunting coats and three-piece suits made of Tweed, Norfolk style jackets made of Beach cloth, and jackets and vests made of double weave wool. They are true to the name of “made to order of the giants,� and you will realize that they are rugged but well-tailored. Although they are not necessarily acceptable to anyone, we are sure that these clothes are the ones that can gratify a mature man who cannot be satisfied with only stylish clothes.

FALL & WINTER 2012-2013 - THE CHRONICLES of Leathertogs

The central player of the leather lineup of this season is “Leathertogs,� one of our hall of fame brands. It has so powerful presence that we have spread it out under its original brand name. Here we release three models imagined from 1920s, 30s and early 40s, trying to trace their phantom history. The first one is a 1920s aviator style leather coat. Leathertogs' products from 1920s are not confirmed to present. However, the company was known to exist in the era. In the view of the historical backdrop, we assume that they must have manufactured flying clothing. The second model is a 1930s Motorcycle jacket with “Malden Label.� Malden is a name of the city where their first factory was once located. This is the only model proven to be in this period. FREEWHEELERS names the jacket “DARE DAVIL� after a nickname of Paul J. C. Derkum, the professional motorcycle racer with a good reputation from early 20th century to 1930s. The third one is early 40s single front Motorcycle jacket. This model is not recognized to present, but we embody one of our everlasting desires that “only if we could see their single front style jacket in the early 40s.� On the other hand, as another symbol of the leather item from this era, we also launch a new leather coat from “Vanishing West,� our brand in isolation from Leathertogs. From 1920s to 1930s, during the period of the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl, migratory workers “Hobos� set out for the west to seek a new world. We project their tough and dedicated soul on our new products which created by images of their simple best clothes.
